Alexa rankings

All this while I have been concentrating a lot on improving my Google page rank. I do realise that Alexa rankings are equally if not more important too. Right now the Alexa rankings of this blog is not that impressive: 461,677.

Unlike Google page rank where we aspire to reach PR 10, it the opposite for Alexa rankings. Here the lower the Alexa rank, the better.

Though a lot of critics say that it not a true indicator of web traffic to a site, Alexa rankings are still used by many sites for the same - this includes a number of online advertising companies.

I have already taken some of the steps listed there including putting up the Alexa rank widget on the sidebar and also have Firefox’s SearchStatus add-on installed.
